As outlined in the HDR Examination Procedures, you can request a review of your examination result in the following circumstances.
- the University HDR Committee made a decision following divergent examiner reports
- you received an E determination (award an alternate degree)
- you received an F determination (non-award)
- you are able to provide documented evidence of a flaw in the examination process, such as prejudice or bias on the part of one or more examiners.
If you’re dissatisfied with the outcome of the review, you may appeal to the Student Appeals Committee, if specified grounds are met, in accordance with the Student Review and Appeal Policy and procedures. An appeal to the Student Appeals Committee must be lodged within 20 working days of the date of the notification of the decision.
If the reviewer or Student Appeals Committee decides in your favour, they may determine that two new examiners be engaged to re-examine the thesis.
