What is the difference between a thesis bibliography and a reference list?

A bibliography includes both references that are cited in the thesis and other sources which the author has consulted and are considered important.  A reference list only contains references which are cited in the thesis.  You should consult with your supervisor regarding which referencing style is appropriate in your discipline.
