Your final Higher Degree by Research (HDR) thesis submission to the Library must comply with copyright requirements.
Many publishers outline what authors are permitted to do in the “rights retained by the author” section of the publishing agreement. If you do not have a copy of this agreement, check the publisher or journal website, usually under an Author or Open Access section.
If permission from the publisher is required, you will need to request this yourself. You can use the template available on the Library Thesis Submission webpage. It is best to do this early, as publishers are not always prompt in responding.
For further information about copyright considerations for your HDR thesis, including the use of third-party material such as images or tables, or preparing a second version of your thesis for Open Access if permission is not obtained, please refer to the Library Thesis Submission webpage:
If you are unsure or need assistance, contact the Copyright Librarian on 8201 3515 or email copyright@flinders.edu.au with your query.
