As an International student studying in Australia on a student visa, up to 33% of your course may be taken by distance / online learning:
- You may not enrol exclusively in distance / online learning topics in each study period (semester or trimester), you must be enrolled and studying at least 1 in person (face-to-face) topic/s.
- If you are in your last semester of study with one topic remaining to complete your degree, you may be allowed to take 1 distance / online learning topic if it is only available online and core topic of the course.
Examples of 33% of overall course totals:
Total Course Units | Permissible Distance / Online Learning Units |
144 | 45 |
108 | 36 |
72 | 22.5 |
54 | 18 |
36 | 9 |
18 | 4.5 |
For students who receive a credit from previous learning, the total number of online topics a student may undertake should be computed based on the remaining number of units to be completed. For example, Total course units (108units) - credit units (36 units) = 72 units - 33% = 22.5 units of distance/online learning
