It is important to understand your obligations in undertaking in person examinations. Failure to do so may result in being dismissed from the examination venue and reported to the relevant College in accordance with the University’s policy on Academic Integrity.

When preparing for and attending your exam, keep in mind:

  • Student ID cards and Disability Access Plans must be presented at every examination.  
  • No items are allowed in the examination room except the permitted items listed below, specified in your exam timetable or advised by your topic coordinator e.g. textbooks, programmable calculators.
    NB: Computer labs (CML and IST) will require a mobile phone where MFA will be required to log into exams then must be placed away.
  • Limited bag storage facilities are available at exam venues we strongly advise you to not bring any items other than those permitted.
  • Eligible NESB cardholders will receive additional time provisions.

    
PERMITTED ITEMS

Items permitted to take into the exam include:

  • Writing materials (e.g. pens, eraser) in a transparent pencil case or clear plastic sleeve only
  • Plastic transparent water bottle, label removed, with no logos, pictures or writing on the bottle
  • Soft lollies/sultanas only in a clear plastic bag (no wrappers)
  • Analogue and digital watches (non-smartwatches) these must be placed on the exam desk
  • Eligible non-English speaking (NESB) background students ONLY are permitted to bring a non-technical dictionary (English only) with no notes, diagrams, or pictures on any pages

NON-PERMITTED ITEMS
No items are allowed in the examination room (e.g. mobile phones or wallets) except the permitted items listed above, specified in your exam timetable or advised by your topic coordinator.
