There’s a number of alternative ways to gain entry to most of our undergraduate courses besides using high school results.

TAFE/VET

If you have completed (or are intending to complete) vocational education and training (VET) at TAFE or another registered training organisation at a minimum of Certificate III level, you can use your VET qualifications to apply for entry to many Flinders University courses.

Flinders University has also partnered with TAFE SA to provide dual awards that earn you a TAFE Diploma or Advanced Diploma as well as a Flinders bachelors degree.

Foundation Studies

Upon successful completion of the Flinders Foundation Studies Program you get guaranteed entry into select Flinders courses, and can competitively apply for entry to most of our other undergraduate courses. In addition, the Foundation Studies program will provide you with the skills required for study at university level.

Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT)

Most Flinders undergraduate courses consider your STAT score for entry. To be considered using your STAT score you must apply through the South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC) where you can indicate if you wish to sit the test. The STAT tests your verbal and quantitative reasoning skills.

If you have previous STAT results you would like considered you can also indicate this in your SATAC application.

Personal competencies and work experience

If you have relevant personal or work experience, most undergraduate courses will consider this in conjunction with your STAT results.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants

Indigenous students can also gain admission to Flinders University through the Indigenous Admissions Scheme.
