If you are a Commonwealth supported student and you will be obtaining a HECS-HELP loan for all or part of your student contributions, then you must include your tax file number (TFN) on your Commonwealth Assistance Form (CAF). If you don't yet have one, you should apply for a TFN as soon as possible.

If your TFN is not yet available, in order to continue with the enrolment process, you should complete your CAF as if you do not want a HECS-HELP loan. Once you have your TFN you will need to submit a new CAF.  If this is prior to the census date for the topics you are enrolled in, you can log back in to the Student System to complete the form.  If your TFN is not supplied until after the census date you should contact Flinders Connect in the Student Hub (Level 0, Central Library), or by telephone on 1300 FLINDERS (1300 354 633).

If you are a Commonwealth supported student, and you are not eligible for a HECS-HELP or you will be paying all of your student contribution amounts upfront, then you do not need to supply your TFN on your CAF.

If you are a postgraduate fee-paying student and you will be obtaining a FEE-HELP loan for all or part of your tuition fees then you must include your TFN on your CAF.
