Students are able to access travel insurance for their university travel if they are getting credit towards their Flinders University studies or the trip has been otherwise approved by their College subject to the following conditions:

  • The overall travel period is a maximum of 180 days for undergraduate students) or 365 days (for postgraduate students), and
  • The percentage of incidental private travel does not exceed 50% of the University related travel, and
  • The journey involves a destination 50 kilometres or more away and commences from, and concludes at, the student’s normal residence (whichever is left last)

Students undertaking travel for approved University purposes and subject to the above conditions will not be charged for cover under the University’s corporate travel insurance.

Students travelling overseas are required to register for travel insurance on the student travel insurance webpage.
